Self-Harm Tattoo Coverup Giveaway
As an eternal lover of all things Tolkien, I’ve decided to implement the Hobbit tradition of celebrating your Birthday by giving gifts to all those who attend your party instead of receiving them.
We’re in a time where tattoo culture is shifting as rapidly as the world around us, and instead of standing firm in my feelings of oppression from the algorithm and social anxiety I would like to use this time as an opportunity to find that “soul tribe”. Tattooing, for me, as always been an act of self care and a powerful tool against further self-harm. This has always been cost-prohibitive, however, because good work takes time and good tattoos aren’t cheap. I’m now caught in a weird position where I want to HELP and SERVE my community with this healing modality I have devoted my life to, but I also need to pay the rent.
It is my goal to keep my tattoo work available to working class people, as self care should not be a privilege.
As a response into the increasingly commercialisation and capitalization of the industry, costs are rising all around us. Many artists are starting to charge more, and shop minimums keep rising with the cost of supplies and real estate. I already dread quoting and pricing tattoos, as I have many hang-ups around finances I’m currently working through, and I don’t want tattooing to become this elite “thing.” From the bottom of my big, squishy heart I want to help people with the work that I do, not price-gauge and make a killing slinging ink. It would be nice, but as a bi-product of work well done as opposed to an endless hustle.
Full-Time Witch, Part-Time Tattooer
I’ve long said that such was the dream, to be a full-time witch, in the garden with the flowers and the animals, and be in the shop part-time. Well the universe has sort of forced my hand in making this dream come true, as there doesn’t seem to be as many people blindly going in to shops to get tattooed, meaning that an artist in a new market has little opportunity to build new clientele.
Now it’s time to get creative.
Introducing My New Tarot Platform!
I’ve just created a new YouTube channel where I will be offering free collective readings. I will also be figuring out how to make this translate in to Instagram and Tik Tok, but as a stubborn Elder Millennial I’m slow to learning the newest social networking technology (but I know for a fact that my old myspace is still there!) so I haven’t yet figured out how to do the short-form version of this, but such is the promise I am making now.
But what has this got to do with FREE TATTOOS, damn it?!
It is my desire to put myself out there and help people help themselves, and find the community I’ve always longed for. A community based in compassion, shared wisdom, and mutual empowerment.
I want to share my mental health journey, and share the tools I’ve found to bring myself out of the despair. I’m still there, but now I have a drastically different perspective- one that is full of woo!
If you feel like you’re vibing with what I have to offer, please join my new Newsletter, where I will share exclusive video readings, blog posts, and words of encouragement as we all go forward together in this mad world.
